H27D represents an elegant combination of sensitivity to context and technical prowess. The walls are made entirely of lightweight concrete blocks, avoiding the use of additional thermal insulation.
The apartments are deep in plan and ingenious. A typical plan has small bedrooms with a linking balcony overlooking the street, with a large open-plan L shaped living-kitchen-dining area behind. This clever mixed-use scheme (a clothes shops occupies the whole of the ground floor giving it a real street presence) was achieved for a mere €1428 per square metre.
