It would be almost impossible to incorporate modern bathrooms within the existing Georgian interior. A separate rear extension is entirely logical; it is in keeping with good conservation practice that the tiny extension should clearly articulate its difference from the historic structure. It is a triumph of wit and invention over the worst vagaries of the planning system.
