In old money this is a library but its being dubbed an idea store is more than an exercise in re-branding, it is an accurate representation of the building’s mixed activities.
 
Most new libraries in this country are being procured through PFI - the Idea Store shows that setting adventurous architects to work in a traditional manner is still the best way to make good buildings.
