The Institute does everything that is asked of it. It takes the traditional idea of a laboratory building and adds a layer of sparkle on the top.
This is ‘science as theatre’, with all the operational props on display: rows of laboratory coats and banks of sterilized jars. Science has suddenly become glamorous - and interesting.
