The modifications to the entrance provide direct access to and from Trafalgar Square. The removal of large piers and the insertion of trusses to support the new accommodation was a bold stroke and has enlarged the entrance foyer so that it now appears as a series of linked spaces.

The new interiors are an understated, modernist fusion of the old with the new.
