The old Alliance Building of the China Inland Mission has been restored and converted into a student hostel and forms a gateway to four new accommodation blocks.
 
There is an agreeable tranquility about this scheme, which is due more to the thoughtfulness of the architecture than a generosity of budget - a little less than fourteen hundred pounds per square metre.
