This project skillfully adds a Grade II* house to Mewès' and Davis' Ritz. The client’s commitment to detail is most clearly demonstrated in the exquisitely executed restoration of William Kent's Great Room. Everything in this space, from wall coverings to the gilded and painted ceiling, was meticulously researched and immaculately crafted. The project is not just about restoration. It is as much about invention as it is about history, incorporating details such as flat screen TVs which rise out of period pieces. The Ritz, after a one hundred year wait, now has the essential 'Royal Suite' available to be offered to the occasional world weary monarch, dignitary or oligarch who finds themselves in Piccadilly.
