Farnborough Business Park

Farnborough DBA, Farnborough Business Park

Farnborough DBA

As part of the masterplan to develop Farnborough Business Park, a new square has been developed with the frame of a World War I airship hangar as its centre piece. The square, which links with the town’s historic quarter, is defined by a red brick 1930s, first a hospital then a research, building which has been restored and adapted for a variety of business uses, and two new office buildings to the east, whose materials reflect without mimicking the old block. The new construction is pragmatic, comprising a concrete frame in regular bays with kit-of-parts terracotta panels and aluminium cladding all manufactured off-site. In other words, sensibly, it doesn’t try too hard.
