This project is an excellent example of the complete integration of interior and exterior. The brilliantly coloured enclosures that punctuate the dramatic black brick exterior of this building link inside and out, creating interesting reception and waiting spaces for this health project. The use of colour is further evident with the use of pale blue solar shading, providing an enjoyable contrast with the black brick. Window reveals are also coloured. It is essentially a simple building with a lot of cellular accommodation where vistas down corridors to the outside, and views from lift lobbies transcend it from the norm. The interior provides uplifting spaces for the caring of abused children in South London. The architects have worked with two artists, which again raises the quality of the interventions.
