The masterplan for London's Olympic Park covers an area of 242 hectares and was the focus of activities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The plan is organised around a central spine of pedestrian circulation linking the entrances, and sporting facilities and formed partly by a series of new bridges.
The Client's Brief was to use the Games to facilitate a successful social, physical and sporting Legacy for London. Without the Games, the area would probably have been developed in an ad-hoc manner. London 2012 offered the opportunity for a thoughtful masterplan for the regeneration of a large are of east London.
Wildflower meadows were a highly visible feature of the Park which now gives local communities better access to high-quality green space and recreational facilities.
