Quadrant 3 is a large-scale mixed use development just off of Piccadilly Circus in London’s West End. The scheme ambitiously and successfully tackles issues of conservation, sustainability, and urban regeneration.
A triangular site, the three corners of the existing early 20th century buildings (themselves replacements for Nash’s originals) were retained and their faience façades restored. The infills are faced with a coloured faience manufactured by the same company as the original.
The complexity of the accommodation: restored art deco restaurants, new small scale offices and a hotel are skilfully assembled into a cohesive whole.
A state-of-the-art fuel cell and common vehicular servicing for the three adjacent blocks by the same developer, maximise efficiency and energy use.
