The Caixa Galicia Art Gallery in La Coruña is lavishly funded by a twenty five per cent levy imposed by the Spanish government on all financial institutions.
 
The building's dramatic glazed façade is tilted forward, with the ground cut away at street level, allowing light to flood into the three below-ground levels, which include a concert hall whose inspiration is clearly London's Royal Festival Hall.

Caixa Galicia Art Gallery was visited by The RIBA Awards Group and considered for The Stirling Shortlist.
