
The AJ First Building Award winner 2005: Gazzano House
The AJ| First Building Award – in association with Robin Ellis Design and Construction|.
This prize goes to the best example of a first stand-alone building by a British architect practising within the European Union.
Gazzano House in London, a new commercial-residential block on Farringdon Road by Amin Taha Architects, has won this year’s AJ First Building Award in association with Robin Ellis Design & Construction.
The shortlist for 2005 was:
Gazzano House, Amin Taha Architects
Sure Start Tamworth, Sjolander da Cruz Architects
Stealth House, Robert Dye Architects
The award is judged by a panel comprising:
Barrie Evans, Buildings Editor of the Architects’ Journal; Robin Ellis of Robin Ellis Design & Construction; and Sylvia Ullmayer, joint winner of the 2004 AJ First Building Award.
The prize was presented at the RIBA Stirling Prize Dinner on October 15 at the Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.
