The RIBA Sorrell Foundation Schools Award

The £5,000 prize is presented to the architects of the best RIBA award-winning school (primary or secondary) with the aim of raising the standards of design in all new school building.
 
The prize in 2008 is judged by a panel including Frances Sorrell, co-founder of the Sorrell Foundation, Sarah Davey, Head Teacher at Mount Bay school in Cornwall and Tony McGuirk, Chairman of BDP.

The Sorrell Foundation was set up to inspire creativity in young people and to improve the quality of life through good design. The RIBA Sorrell Foundation Schools Award is the UK¹s first prize for excellence in school architecture, set up to further raise the standard of design in all new primary and secondary school buildings.
