The RIBA Inclusive Design Award, sponsored by CABE, celebrated inclusivity in building design, and demonstrated that good design results in environments that are safe, convenient and enjoyable to use by people, regardless of disability, age or gender. As of 2008 this special award no longer exists, primarily because the RIBA values the principles of inclusive design so highly that they are now firmly incorporated in the criteria for the RIBA Awards |as a whole.
CABE are now supporting a new special award: The RIBA CABE Public Space Award|.
In 2007 the award was judged by a panel including Anna Hamilos of CABE, Julie Fleck of the Greater London Authority and Alan Stanton of Stanton Williams.
