Funding

The RIBA Education Department is responsible for administering a number of trust funds supporting undergraduate students, specialist postgraduate study, architectural researchers and related educational projects. 
 

  • The RIBA Education Fund – (Registered Charity No. 1063625) open to applicants enrolled on UK Parts 1 or 2 courses who have successfully completed the first year of the Part 1 course. 
  • The RIBA Goldfinger Scholarship – open to Hungarian architectural graduates only. 
  • The RIBA Research Trusts – open to applicants undertaking independent architectural research, whether or not they have any previous architectural training; this fund is not available to pay course fees or subsistence costs whilst enrolled on PhD/MPhil programmes. 
  • The L K E Ozolins Studentship – awarded as a research studentship to fund a PhD/MPhil student in the architectural field. 
  • The RIBA McAslan Bursary - To support architectural and engineering students, graduates and newly-qualified architects and engineers committed to the progress of environmental and community issues in economically deprived areas in the UK or abroad. 
  • The RIBA Norman Foster Travelling Scholarship - A travel grant will be awarded to one student from architecture schools with RIBA validation in the UK and abroad. Applicants will be chosen on the basis of proposals - submitted via Heads of School - for their proposed area of research, which might include: learning from the past to inform the future; the future of society; the density of settlements; sustainability; the use of resources; the quality of urban life and transport.
