A new service from the RIBA CPD Providers Network can help you obtain new qualifications or specialisations to market to clients or employers.
RIBA Skill is intensive, super CPD, achieved through advanced learning from universities and colleges. RIBA Skill courses will be normally of at least four days' duration, and ought to lead to relevant additional qualifications or specialist skills, in architecture, design or business management areas.
Outcomes could be attendance of week long modules, certificates of achievement or competence, diplomas, NVQ's, MA's, MSc's, or work towards an advanced degree if desired.
The impetus for RIBA Skill came from the RIBA CPD Core Curriculum, with its three tiered learning approach to the maintenance of competence. The highest level - advanced learning - is defined as specialisms within the general practice of architecture which an architect would market to clients and employees to obtain specialist employment.
At the same time, increased need for specialisation, driven by the industry, clients, government and statutory bodies combines with a rapidly changing practice environment. Architects are increasingly required (or wishing) to gain additional qualifications to demonstrate specific expertise. It's an investment of time and money for you, but also a significant investment in your future, your business and your career.
RIBA Skill brings this all together in an easy to access service, to encourage architects and other professionals to pursue advanced learning as a complement to their jobs.
RIBA Skill complements other RIBA CPD, both the RIBA CPD Providers Network and RIBA regional CPD. We are pleased that with RIBA Skill, we can now offer learning at every level.
