The Royal Institute of British Architects is the world’s pre-eminent organisation dedicated to the advancement of architecture and to the promotion of excellence in the profession. The RIBA’s Policy and International Relations Department is responsible for developing a policy resource for the Institute, informed by the work of the public affairs, future studies, international affairs and client forum units, while ensuring the smooth running of the Board, Council & Constitutional Affairs Secretariat.

Reporting to the Director, Policy & International Relations, you will be responsible for developing the future studies work of the RIBA within the framework of our Building Futures programme.

Working with a range of current and future partners, key tasks will include organising events, commissioning and conducting studies and arranging publications on issues relevant to the future of the architectural profession, taking direction from and feeding into the work of the RIBA Policy & International Relations Department, and its Policy & Strategy work group.

A self-starter and confident communicator, you will be tactful, analytical, creative and resilient with excellent written and verbal presentation skills. You will also possess extensive project management experience within a think tank or policy based environment and have experience of supervising and motivating others.

Some knowledge of central government structures relating to architecture would be helpful as well as some fund-raising experience. An architectural or research background will be a distinct advantage.
