The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) champions better buildings, communities and the environment through architecture and its members. With a passion to promote a wider public appetite and interest in architecture through its website, exhibitions, talks and four million-strong collections, the RIBA has led the profession since its foundation in 1834, and continues to lead as architects face the challenges of the 21st century.
We are currently looking for a resourceful individual to take on this varied role, giving vital support to the President's PA by providing full administrative and secretarial services to the President's Office. This all-encompassing role will involve a range of duties such as dealing with all forms of correspondence, seeking alternative representatives when the President is unable to attend a meeting/event, filing, maintaining up to date contact lists, occasional copy typing of the President's speeches and articles.
You will also provide full support for the President Elect/Immediate Past President who are in post in alternate years. Duties will include diary management, arranging travel and accommodation, dealing with emails, sourcing briefing material and drafting correspondence.
Any ad hoc requests from the President or special projects will also be part of your remit.
A confident person with a mature outlook, you will be adept at note taking, fast and accurate typing as well as handling confidential information with the utmost discretion. Able to juggle various tasks and prioritise conflicting demands, you will have a good standard of written English, sound knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and first class communication skills.
As you may also be required to provide short-term cover for the President's PA or Chief Executive's Assistant where necessary, a flexible approach is key.
