Be part of the vision; be part of the RIBA.
The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) champions better buildings, communities and the environment through architecture and its members. With a passion to promote a wider public appetite and interest in architecture through its website, exhibitions, talks and four million-strong collections, the RIBA has led the profession since its foundation in 1834, and continues to lead as architects face the challenges of the 21st century.
Working as part of a small team, based in Lincoln and reporting into the Regional Director, you will be responsible for the delivery of the regional office's activity focused on RIBA members and others in the construction industry professions, as outlined in the 2012/2016 Strategy.
This will be done via a communications and events strategy, developed with colleagues, specifically the Regional Director and the second Events and Professional Development Coordinator, to include our CPD training programme plus events for architects and co-professionals to meet, share knowledge, expertise and network.
Along with other team members, you will also provide liaison with the four county based branches in the region and build relationships with member practices via visits to their offices. You will also provide a key role as part of the team delivering the annual RIBA Awards programme.
Utilising your industry links and knowledge of communications, where applicable, you'll identify and achieve income generation through sponsorship and other means to support events.
Confident and enthusiastic, you'll be used to working in a small, dynamic team and preferably have knoweldge of working in partnership with likeminded organisations, managing events, project budgets and fundraising. Attendance at external meetings and events, including representing the region on RIBA wide groups, will also be required, so flexibility is key.
