The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) champions better buildings, communities and the environment through architecture and its members. With a passion to promote a wider public appetite and interest in architecture through its website, exhibitions, talks and four million-strong collections, the RIBA has led the profession since its foundation in 1834, and continues to lead as architects face the challenges of the 21st century.

An exciting opportunity has now become available for a Venue Marketing Manager to join the Venues team on a part-time basis (3 days per week).

Our Venues team market and sell the RIBA's 24 meeting and event facilities to both members and external organisations, so this role is all about effectively marketing the spaces to maximise utilisation and ultimately income.

As someone who is adept at networking, selling, marketing and delivering events services, you will work closely with the Head of Venues to deliver the sales and marketing strategy for the Venues business, to significantly increase the venue booking turnover and raise the profile of the RIBA facilities, through strong PR tactics and relationship marketing. You will take ownership of organising promotional events with potential and existing clients to showcase the RIBA facilities and build relationships, as well as attend networking events and attend bi-annual trade shows and exhibitions.

Developing the cold and warm-calling system for the Venues team, you will also liaise with other RIBA departments, including the membership, communications and PR teams to effectively and consistently market the facilities to members and external organisations at home and abroad, as well as being mindful of copy deadlines in publications that can help to promote news and special offers.

With event management and event marketing experience, you should have first-class customer service skills alongside creative thinking, a practical approach and the ability to build and maintain long-lasting relationships. A qualification in Business, Events Management, Hospitality or Catering would be desirable and you must be able to attend/host evening events on occasion (approximately once a month).
