Be part of the vision; be part of the RIBA.
The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) champions better buildings, communities and the environment through architecture and its members. With a passion to promote a wider public appetite and interest in architecture through its website, exhibitions, talks and four million-strong collections, the RIBA has led the profession since its foundation in 1834, and continues to lead as architects face the challenges of the 21st century.
Our Venues team market and sell the RIBA's 26 meetings and event facilities, and as a Venues Administrative Assistant, you will provide a range of support duties to ensure this important operation runs smoothly. Booking meetings and events for as many as 100 delegates at a time, your role will be wide-ranging, from dealing with telephone and email enquiries, to preparing meeting and welcome sheets and ensuring the room is ready for the client on the day itself.
And that's not all! You will be the first point of contact for all clients on the day of their event and following the meeting or event, you will send out feedback questionnaires and collate the response. Processing client invoices as well as chasing up provisional bookings is also a key responsibility.
As a first class communicator, customer service skills are a must for this very hands-on and busy role, as is the ability to manage expectations and remain calm under pressure. You should be able to work as part of a wider team, be highly organised, motivated and able to work alone unsupervised. Previous exposure in a client facing role is essential, and experience in Office Administration, Events, Hospitality and/or Catering would be beneficial, but not a prerequisite.
