The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) champions better buildings, communities and the environment through architecture and its members. With over 40,000 members worldwide the RIBA has led the profession since its foundation in 1834, and continues to lead as architects face the challenges of the 21st century.

As we embark on an ambitious new business strategy, we are looking to recruit a target-driven Membership Development Executive to be responsible for growing the RIBA Membership by developing new business relationships to generate new income against agreed annual targets.

Working in close collaboration with other RIBA departments, you will report to the Membership Development Manager and proactively build a solid deliverable pipeline for new business. This will involve utilising all methods of direct communication from face-to-face meetings, to marketing, telephone and email. You will also be responsible for developing and managing a prospect database, as well as reporting documents, initiatives and campaigns to raise the profile of the RIBA and its range of membership services.

Ideally qualified to degree standard, or possessing equivalent professional qualifications/ experience, you must possess Business or Membership Development experience gained in a sales environment. You should be adept at delivering against financial targets and be at ease up-selling and cross-selling, with good Customer Relationship Management (CRM) experience. You'll also be an excellent, all-round communicator with good presentation skills, a positive attitude, with the ability to achieve work goals and targets. An understanding of membership organisations and architecture would be ideal, but is not a prerequisite. If you welcome the chance to join a thriving, respected organisation and want to be part of our exciting future, please get in touch.

If you would like to apply for this position, please complete and send a CV, Covering Letter, Applicant's Statement and Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form for the attention of Oliver Escritt by email: recruitment@riba.org or by post: RIBA, 66 Portland Place, London W1B 1AD.
