Historical Research Trust

The Historical Research Trust exists to support the study of architecture, other than contemporary and recent architecture; this includes the decoration and furnishing of buildings in any part of the world. 

Please note the Historical Research Trust awards are for a closely defined piece of architectural research and are not available to pay course fees and subsistence costs to students whilst enrolled on PhD/MPhil programmes. 
 
The following awards are available in 2008:  
 
The Modern Architecture and Town Planning Trust:
- 3 awards not exceeding £5,000 each
 
The Historical Research Trust:
- 1 award not exceeding £5,000

In 2007 the Research Grants Sub-committee awarded Dr Elizabeth Darling £3,720.00 to research the work and life of Wells Wintemute Coates (architect-engineer) under the Historical Research Trust.
