RIBA HSE Research Fund

HSElogo3 The RIBA has partnered with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE)
to create a funding scheme to research how Health and Safety is currently being taught in Schools of Architecture in the United Kingdom.

The aim of the research is to develop a better understanding of the quality and variability of undergraduate training in relation to the designer's role in eliminating health and safety risks and to point at improvements.

The recipients of the Research Fund are Daniel Jary (lead researcher), Leo Care, Howard Evans, and Rosie Parnell - all from the University of Sheffield. Their project will run from January to December 2010, and will build on their experience of teaching health and safety within the undergraduate design studio at the University's School of Architecture.
