Historical Research Trust

The Historical Research Trust Award

In 2009 the Historical Research Trust was merged with the Modern Architecture and Town Planning Trust to create the RIBA Research Trust.

The Historical Research Trust supported the study of architecture, other than contemporary and recent architecture. This included the decoration and furnishing of buildings in any part of the world.

The Historical Research Trust offered awards for a closely defined piece of architectural research and was not available to pay course fees and subsistence costs to students whilst enrolled on PhD/MPhil programmes.

In 2007 the Research Grants Sub-committee awarded Dr Elizabeth Darling £3,720.00 to research the work and life of Wells Wintemute Coates (architect-engineer) under the Historical Research Trust.
