The RIBA Education Fund is a registered charity (number 1063625) that relies on donations to maintain its work in raising aspirations, widening access and improving student retention.
'The Education Fund is crucially important. It acts as a lifeline to students like myself who would have been unable to complete the degree without its assistance.'
Georgie Day, Part I student from the University of Westminster. Read her full case study on RIBA Blogs|
The RIBA Education Fund makes grants to students of architecture in the UK experiencing financial hardship. With your help we have supported many who were facing the prospect of dropping out, but we cannot help them all.
Applications to the Education Fund increased by 300% between 2008/09 and 2011/12. We desperately need to increase the number of grants that we have available to support these students and it is only with your support that we will be able to do this.
Donating to the Fund
All money raised will go directly to the students in need of support. The Fund does not employ any staff and all administration costs are incurred by the RIBA.
There are several other ways to donate to the Fund:

Our donors
The Fund relies on the generosity of individuals, companies and charitable trusts. In particular we are grateful to the following individuals and organisations who regularly support our work:
-
RIBA chartered members, who continue to support the Fund through their annual donations
-
The Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects
-
The RIBA Doric Club
A special thanks to all who supported our annual President's Fundraising Event|, hosted last year by Angela Brady in June 2012.
Every year the RIBA Education team hears from dozens of students who seek help to alleviate their situations of extreme financial hardship. Help us continue our work for the architects of tomorrow in a personal and effective way by leaving a legacy in your will.
Once you have provided for your family and friends, leaving a gift to the RIBA Education Fund will ensure that many talented students will be able to become architects and contribute to laying the foundations of a better society.
All legacies to charities are tax free. If you make a gift to the RIBA Education Fund in your will, its value will be deducted from your estate before inheritance tax is calculated, which means that you can help us and reduce your inheritance tax liability at the same time.
Your solicitor will be able to give you specialist advice according to your individual circumstances. This is especially important for those who are resident outside England and Wales, where different laws apply.
If you do not have a legal advisor please contact our Development team, who will be able to advise you:
