A Loan Library of about 4,500 books is available for loan to members of the RIBA. This includes books on architectural practice, design guides, the work of 20th century architects, building technology, conservation and guides to the architecture of major cities. New material is added regularly.
Membership of the Loan Library is free to RIBA chartered members, RIBA graduate and affiliate members and those registered for the Office Based Examination. Student members and Honorary Fellows are eligible to join the Loan Library for a modest annual fee. Material may be borrowed personally and will be sent by post to those living or working outside the London area (postage fees are payable by borrower). Loan period is normally one month. Application forms for membership of the Loan Library are available on request.
Inter-Library loan facilities are available to other libraries of material from the loan collection. Material from the reference collection is not normally available for inter-library loan. For information contact info@inst.riba.org| and mark your request 'Inter Library Loan'.
