A Loan Library of about 6,000 books is available for loan to members of the RIBA. This includes books on architectural practice, design guides, the work of 20th century architects, building technology, conservation and guides to the architecture of major cities.  

Membership of the Loan Library is free to RIBA chartered members and RIBA graduate members. Student members, Subscriber members and Hon Fellows are eligible to join the Loan Library for a modest annual fee. Material may be borrowed personally and will be sent by post to those living or working outside the London area (postage fees are payable by borrower). Loan period is normally one month. Application forms for membership of the Loan Library are available on request.
 

Book suggestions

We welcome suggestions for additions/improvements to the loan library. If the book you want is not held in the collection, please let us know, as we may decide to purchase it for the loan library. Please send suggestions to info@inst.riba.org| marked ‘Loan Library’.
