There are over 20,000 biographical files available at the British Architectural Library. Each file is unique and could contain nomination papers for membership of the RIBA, obituaries, brochures, newspaper articles, letters or other papers relating to a specific architect or firm.
These records are a resource for students and researchers, proving to be among the best sources of information on obscure architects and providing surprising insights on more well-established ones.
Among those represented include:
Winner of the 2010 and 2011 RIBA Stirling Prize, Zaha Hadid
2011 Royal Gold Medallist, David Chipperfield
Architect of the RIBA headquarters and Library, George Grey Wornum
