Loans of items to other organisations and exhibitions enable the architectural collections| of the RIBA to reach a wider audience and to further promote architecture. The conservation and preservation of the material in the collections is of paramount importance to the RIBA. Therefore, any institutions wishing to borrow items should contact the relevant collections teams at the British Architectural Library for further information about conditions for loans and any fees.

Drawings and Archives Collections
The RIBA considers sympathetically all requests for loans, but the Drawings and Archives Collections can only lend to institutions that meet the required conditions of security and environment set out in the Conditions of Loan.
All loans are subjected to a loan fee of £410. This is to cover administration costs, conservation, mounting and framing of objects. To borrow an object from the collection please send a written request to:
