About the collections

The RIBA Library Drawings and Archives Collections contain over 2.5 million architectural items, including: drawings, manuscripts, archives, models, medals and other architectural objects. They are open to the public and located in the Victoria and Albert Museum, alongside the V&A's own collection of prints and drawings, as part of the V&A + RIBA Architecture Partnership|. Access to these outstanding collections from the RIBA is free by visiting the RIBA Architecture Study Rooms. Some items are on permanent display in the V&A + RIBA Architecture Gallery|

RIBA Architecture Study Rooms|, Victoria and Albert Museum, London

Access

Admission| is free. Available during the opening hours| of the Study Rooms. All material is held in stores and collected at set times for visitors: 10.15am, 11.45am, 2pm and 3.15pm. Contact| the Drawings and Archives Collections team to reserve material in advance and to check their availability as some items are held offsite. Group and educational visits| welcome but they must book three weeks in advance.

All visitors must read and sign the reader information form before viewing material from the Drawings and Archives Collections.

Finding material

To find out what drawings and archive material are held in the collections, search the online catalogue|. To perform a simple search of the catalogue enter a keyword and under the 'collections' drop-down menu select 'Drawings' or 'Archives'. Parts of the collections have been digitised and can be seen online via RIBApix|. Alternatively, please contact| the Drawings and Archives Collections.

Please note that the RIBA's collections| of books, periodicals and photographs are located at 66 Portland Place, London
