Gain a deeper insight into the British Architectural Library's collections and how to get the most out of your visit by coming along to one of our inductions. For enquires and to organise group visits, please contact the Education and Outreach Programme Manager.
There are currently two options:
Groups of up to 20 can book a 90-minute library induction which includes a short introduction to the building, a tour of the library and a practical session looking at how the collections, catalogue and a few items from the collection
Individuals: Free drop-in Library inductions
Individuals can come to one of the free drop-in library inductions on the first Tuesday of every month, 6 - 6.45pm (please note, there will be no drop-in Library inductions taking place in January 2014).Come along to one of these short, practical sessions to find out more about the British Architectural Library’s world-class collections and how to find what you’re looking for when using the Library.
Suitable for new and practiced Library users. No need to book, at 6pm just head straight to the Education Room (to the right of the entrance to the Library's public Reading Room), RIBA, 66 Portland Place.
The British Architectural Library has a collection of over four million items ranging from 17th-century drawings to photography from the 19th century to today, journals from around the world, 15th-century books and intriguing architectural archives. Whatever your special interest and purpose – academic studies or leisure activity – there will be something in the collection to capture your curiosity. Bespoke workshops can be arranged to view and investigate materials from the collection. For enquires about these workshops, please contact the Education and Outreach Programme Manager.
