General introduction to the RIBA British Architectural Library Collections for Higher Education students and tutors
With the new CETLD Bene Education Room|, getting to grips with the RIBA British Architectural Library and its collections has never been easier. Now there is a dedicated room to encounter the collections and online resources, plus try out the facilities now on offer. Inductions will usually cover:
Location
Inductions will usually take place in the CETLD Bene Education Room|, a new space within the RIBA Library, 66 Portland Place. These will be led by Dr Paul Snell (Education Curator), in colloboration with subject specialists. Visits to the Drawings and Archives Collections |at the Victoria and Albert Museum will be coordinated by Justine Sambrook (Assistant Curator). Visits to the V&A + RIBA Partnership Architecture Gallery| will usually be self-guided.
Time
The format of inductions can vary according to needs. However, to maximise this opportunity, we recommend that you plan at least half a day. This will ensure sufficient time for the presentation of the collections and facilities, as well as some scope for discussion. To visit the collections at both 66 Portland Place and the V&A, a full day is advised.
