Greek Architecture in London (A Level)
This downloadable teacher's resource guide outlines an A level study day developed and led by RIBA Library staff. As part of the study day, students visit 11 examples of Greek revival architecture across London on a journey modeled after the ancient Athenian Panathenaia, the great ritual procession to the Acropolis depicted on the Parthenon frieze. Sites include RIBA headquarters, the British Museum, University College London and St Pancras Church. Activities at each site are supported by images drawn from the Library collections.
Students and teachers unable to visit London and experience these sites first hand can take a virtual trip using images found on RIBApix. Teachers can also search RIBApix for images of Greek revival structures across Britain to structure their own study day.
