‘La Maîtrise’, clad in white grained marble, featured a large sunburst motif over its main entrance, made in gilded bronze and coloured glass. Maurice Dufrêne, artistic director of the pavilion, designed not only its furniture but also glassware, textiles, wallpapers and other objects, including the piano featured in the image. Also visible are a lady's bedroom and boudoir on the lower floor and a dining room on the upper floor. Dufrêne continued his collaboration with the Magasins until 1937.
