Bedford Lemere & Co. ran their business from 147 Stand between 1867 and 1947. The studio was ideally located close to many practising architects in the Adelphi and the surrounding area. A showroom on the first floor was open to visitors between 9am and 7pm and contained albums of the firm's work - by 1900 around 50,000 photographs were available for purchase.
