Between 1870 and 1930 central London was transformed. As much was pulled down and rebuilt as would be lost and replaced during and after the Second World War. Based in the Strand, midway between the City and the West End, Bedford Lemere & Co. was ideally located to record the progress of work anywhere in the metropolis.
