There is some uncertainty about the figure visible to the right of the detail. He may have been an assistant or a client.
According to the company's records, the Imperial Restaurant job was carried out by Adolphe Augustus Boucher, one of the firm's principal photographers. The records also tell us that Bedford Lemere himself was present on the day. The photograph probably shows Boucher at work and was possibly taken by Bedford Lemere, then aged 61.
