Stayley Hall, Manchester, is a grand, symmetrically gabled house of the 1570's, probably built for Sir William Booth.  Here we see the house in its abandoned state in the 1970's.  For years it was left to deteriorate and rot, but it is now the subject of a restoration and redevelopment project.
