The arcade motif of the Doge’s Palace represented a model widely used in domestic architecture as it opened up the facade allowing more light into the building. Palaces such as the Ca’ d’Oro, the Palazzo Foscari, the two Giustiniani palaces and the Palazzo Loredan had loggias that followed this model very closely.
