The arcade motif| of the Doge’s Palace represented a model widely used in domestic architecture as it opened up the facade allowing more light into the building. Palaces such as the Ca’ d’Oro|, the Palazzo Foscari|, the two Giustiniani palaces and the Palazzo Loredan| had loggias that followed this model very closely.
