Getting here

Both the Library's sites at 66 Portland Place (Reading Room) and the Victoria and Albert Museum (RIBA Architecture Study Rooms) are open to the public and are easily reached by public transport. London Underground

There are several London Underground stations within walking distance of the 66 Portland Place. 

Regent's Park Bakerloo line
Great Portland Street Hammersmith & City, Circle and Metropolitan lines
Oxford Circus Victoria, Bakerloo and Central lines
Warren Street Northern and Victoria lines

 

Buses

Bus stops are located on Portland Place, Marylebone Road, Euston Road and Great Portland Street. Local buses that stop nearby are numbers:

C2, 18, 27, 30, 88, 205 and 453

Bicycles

There are four bicycle racks outside 66 Portland Place and more can be found nearby along Portland Place, Weymouth Street and Great Portland Street. Barclays Cycle Hire, a public bicycle sharing scheme, operates in the area. The closet docking stations are to be found along Portland Place.

Cars

On-street parking is available on Portland Place (A4021) and Weymouth Street, though some are strictly for resident permit holders only. A 24-hour car park is located in Cavendish Square. There are designated disabled parking spaces on Portland Place for Blue Badge holders. For satellite navigation systems, use postcode W1B 1AD to locate the RIBA. Please note 66 Portland Place is inside the northern boundary of the Congestion Charging zone.

Motorcycles

There are parking spaces on Portland Place for solo motorcycles.

 

RIBA Architecture Study Rooms

The Study Rooms are located inside the Victoria and Albert Museum, on Level 4 of the Henry Cole Wing. Visit the Study Rooms to access the Drawings and Archives Collections.

London Underground

The closest station to the V&A is South Kensington (Circle, District and Piccadilly lines).

Buses

Bus numbers C1, 14, 74 and 414 will stop outside the Grand Entrance on Cromwell Road.

Bicycles

Bicycle racks can be found along Exhibition and Cromwell Road. Barclays Cycle Hire, a public bicycle sharing scheme, operates in the area. The closest docking stations are to be found outside South Kensington Underground station and near Holy Trinity Brompton church on Brompton Road.

Cars

The V&A is located on Cromwell Road (A4). For satellite navigation systems, use postcode SW7 2RL to locate the V&A. Please note the museum is inside the Congestion Charging zone.
