Two chartered members and three honorary fellows of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) have received awards in the Queen's New Year's Honours list.

Professor Christine Hawley who received a CBE for services to architectural education;

Dr Donald Buttress who received an OBE for services to the conservation of cathedrals

John Sorrell CBE, Chair of the Sorrell Foundation and the London Design Festival, who received a knighthood for services to the creative industries;

Paula Ridley OBE, lately Chair of the Board of Trustees, Victoria and Albert Museum, who received a CBE for services to the arts;

Graham Watts, Chief Executive of the Construction Industry Council, who received an OBE for services to the construction industry.
