About the Architect
This room is named after Sir James Stirling, one of Britain's greatest post-war architects, whose colourful, humanistic approach characterised works such as the Stuttgart Art Gallery, the Clore Gallery at Tate Britain and Tate Liverpool. Sir James Stirling received the Royal Gold Medal in 1980. Image: Staatsgalerie Extension Stuttgart. Photograph by Alastair Hunter. RIBA Photographs Collection www.ribapix.com|.
