Welcome to the September edition of RIBA International

In this issue we cover the vital work of the IAP (Institute of Architects, Pakistan) in its plans to reconstruct areas ravaged by the floods as well as details of how to contribute to the IAP Flood Relief Fund.

We feature the announcement of the winner of the Singapore Institute of Architects’ Gold Medal 2010 and also the announcement of the winner of the UIA International student competition. We also explore the unique opportunity offered to architects to contribute to the UIA Tokyo 2011 congress.

Further overseas news charts the journey of the RIBA's exhibition, Palladio and his legacy: A Transatlantic Journey as it moves to Washington DC, a tour of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai organised by the RIBA’s Gulf Chapter and an exhibition of the work of Buckminster Fuller in Madrid, co-curated by Norman Foster.

In addition, Ian Pritchard, RIBA Director of Policy & International Relations gives an invaluable digest into working in the EU, detailing recognition of professional qualifications and trans-national agreements.
