Call for nominations

The RIBA Hong Kong Chapter invites members who reside in Hong Kong to stand for election to the official Chapter Committee and be given the opportunity to take part in the next step of shaping the Chapter's future.

Please see below on details of how to stand for election:

  • All RIBA members with a declared address in Hong Kong are eligible to vote for their chosen candidate and to stand for election to the Chapter Committee.
  • Any Chartered, Associate, Affiliate and Student member may stand.
  • Candidates who put themselves forward need to be nominated and seconded by 2 Chartered members.
  • There are up to 11 seats available on the Committee (of which a minimum of six seats must be Chartered members).
  • The Committee may then co-opt up to five more RIBA members seats or non-members based in Hong Kong and mainland China in order to attract specific skills and expertise.
  • All candidates to prepare no more than 100 words to support their candidacy including a brief summary of their professional expertise and reasons for seeking the role, along with a photo.
  • If there are more candidates than seats available, elections will take place and members will receive a ballot paper after the close of the nomination period.
