RIBA Awards

RIBA Awards are given for buildings that have high architectural standards and make a substantial contribution to the local environment. The awards are annual, and have been running continuously since 1966.

RIBA Awards 2009

Eight buildings in the Eastern Region have won an RIBA Award 2009|

From 34 entries and a shortlist of 15, eight buildings in the eastern region have won an RIBA Award in 2009. The shortlisted buildings were visited by the Awards Jury during April and the winners announced on 21st May. The winners will receive their plaques at the annual Awards Dinner on 25th September which, this year, is being held at the RIBA Award winning Thomas Deacon Academy in Peterborough.

The RIBA Awards in the East region were judged by Ken Shuttleworth, founder of Make Architects and CABE regional representative; Jill Goddard of the Thames Partnership; and RIBA East Chairman Steven Kearney of SK Architects.

RIBA East Spirit of Ingenuity Awards

 

Call for entries to the 2009 Spirit of Ingenuity Awards

Entries are invited into the RIBA East Spirit of Ingenuity Awards 2009 with a deadline of Friday 12 June 2009.

 

This prestigious annual, regional awards scheme is aimed at recognising the design ingenuity and architectural excellence of architects and their clients across the East of England for schemes designed within the region.
 
The RIBA East Spirit of Ingenuity Awards complement the RIBA Awards and play an important role in drawing public attention to and interest in the innovative architecture in our region which comprises the counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex (excluding London boroughs), Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
 
This year's regional award categories are:

  • Education and Healthcare Award
  • Heritage Award
  • Home Award 
  • Residential Design Award
  • Sustainability Award
  • Workspace Award 

 

Over the last decade, our region has seen an immense number of striking award winning schemes that demonstrate extraordinary design talent.
