The ten RIBA East Regional Award winners and seven RIBA East Special Award winners were announced at an awards celebration at Downing College, Cambridge on Thursday 10th April.

Eighteen buildings in the East of England were originally shortlisted for an RIBA East Regional Award in 2014.

2013 RIBA Regional & National Awards: East

 

From an original shortlist of 19 buildings in the East region, seven won an RIBA Regional Award in 2013. RIBA Regional Awards: East (previously known in this region as the RIBA East Spirit of Ingenuity Awards) recognise good, innovative architecture within the region.

The shortlisted buildings were assessed by a regional jury with the winners announced at a gala dinner in Birmingham on Wednesday 12 June 2013.

Regional Special Awards

The 2013 Regional Special Award winners were:

Sustainability Award - Westborough Primary School by Cottrell & Vermeulen Architecture

Client of the Year Award - The Governors of Westborough Primary School for Westborough Primary School by Cottrell & Vermeulen Architecture

Building of the Year Award - Newhall Be by Alison Brooks Architects

National Awards

Two RIBA East Regional winners went on to win a highly-coveted RIBA National Award in recognition of their architectural excellence on a national platform, announced on the same evening (12 June) and details of these two schemes can be found at RIBA National Award winners.
