An architectural promenade forms the heart of this building of super human proportions, celebrating the activities of botanical research through interaction, communication and a connection with nature. The Sainsbury Laboratory is one of six exceptional buildings on the RIBA Stirling prize shortlist and has been heaped with praise by the critics. Alan Stanton of Stanton Williams will share his thoughts about this inspirational building, which is generally closed to the public.
