This is an interesting insertion into the context of Humberston, Fitties, a community of pre-fabs and hand-built structures.

Set within a generous plot and located one row back from the seafront, this contemporary beach hut chalet sits comfortably with its neighbours despite being a modern interpretation of a well-known seaside typology, capturing the spirit of the seaside architecture inherent within these ‘tourist shanty towns’.

The elevated structure is a well-worked solution with a restrained pallet of materials, which have been jointed well. Ingenious three-dimensional planning optimizes the sense of space within a small volume, aided by full-height glazing to the garden and efficient storage design concealed around the bed and bathroom areas at the front.
