The RIBA EM Special Project Award highlights the much broader range of activity that architects contribute to e.g. education work, master planning, urban design, specialist reports, competitions and conceptual proposals.
This exceptional conservation study of the historic Park Estate in Nottingham was commissioned with a view to providing pointers to preserving the ethos and spirit of the estate. In the plan, its author, architect Allan Mulcahy, sets out a sensible approach to the conservation of this unique residential area. The design of the publication has been carefully considered, something not often seen with such reports. It is handy, extremely well set out and packed with information and advice.
